Sept 21--Last but not least !!
This summer Community 2000 and the Warwick Art League are sponsoring a series of four juried Artist / Artisan exhibitions and sales. The events will be held between 9:00 am and 3:00 Pm with set up and breakdown taking approximately an hour and an half at each end. These high quality shows which will take place on Railroad Green will attempt to present a wide range of Arts including but not limited to Fabric (weaving, quilting. batik etc), Glass (blown, painted, stained), Photography, Wood (working , turning and carving), Jewelry, Leather, Pottery, Sculpture, Fine Art (Paintings, Prints, Drawings, Giclee etc), Stone Wall Construction, Stone Carving, and more. Each show will be limited to approximately twenty vendors with one being a local high school student. Spaces will be 10X10 will cost $35. This fee will pay for promotion and other expenses. Most spaces will accommodate a tent - some will not. Depending on the number of applications it is possible you may have an opportunity to participate in more than one show. Participants for each show will be selected to exhibit a diverse range of arts therefore applying to more than one is encouraged.
These shows are designed to allow Warwick to become better acquainted with its artists and to provide a venue in which to sell their works. The shows will be composed predominately of Warwick artists however, since art knows no boundaries, a couple of spaces will be available to artists from surrounding communities.
The show on July 20 will include a plein aire painting event - open to members of the Warwick Art League. It will not require an application or a fee. At other shows two dimensional artists can choose to display on the fence and the shelter wall - or take a booth space.
We will also be looking for acoustic musicians, magicians and other entertainers who will be given a small space to sell CDs / promote themselves in exchange for their performances. An application and approval are required - a fee is not.
Applications can be obtained at the Caboose or by clicking on the link on the bottom of this page.
Print it out and send it in to the address on it.
Applications should be submitted as soon as possible. There is no jury fee, but payment will be expected upon acceptance.
In the event of rain - a more limited selling space will be available at La Montiel Dance studio at 17 Main Street, 2nd floor which has graciously provided their space to continue the venue. This location is quite nearby and signs will be erected directing people to this alternate location.
